I’ve Created A Wordpress Theme, How Can I Keep My Author Link Intact?

Most people delete the author link that’s located in the footer of a Wordpress blog after they use a free Wordpress theme.
I’ve seen theme designers put their links in the footer of their Wordpress themes that can’t be removed.
How can I do this?

Try putting them within the footer’s background image. Sure, it isn’t foolproof - but it does deter a fair amount of people from removing it.
